Head in the Clouds

2011

Head in the Clouds is an extension of my interest in memory, "head space" and the ethereal. The paintings have familiar images of people from my own relationships with clouds circling them and embracing their faces.  The amorphous and ambiguous cloud forms are a complementary companion to the rigid representational human subjects in an ambivalent environment that suggest both sky and the interior psyche. Head in the Clouds is both playful and contemplative work that is still unfolding.
